Nitin Sardesai is an Indian politician from the state of Maharashtra, who belongs to the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). He is the current member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
Early Life & Background
Nitin Sardesai was born on 22nd December 1963 in Mumbai. He has completed his graduation in BSc.
Journey in Politics
Nitin Sardesai entered the world of Indian Politics through the MNS party. He is the friend of the founder and the president of MNS, Raj Thackeray, since his college days. So, when Raj Thackeray moved out from Shiv Sena and planned to form his own Political Party, Nitin Sardesai came forward to support his friend. He supported Raj Thackeray to form Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, and when the party was launched, he became the General Secretary of MNS. He is also the Chief Co-ordinator of MNS.
In 2008, MNS launched ‘Hawai Karmachari Sena’ aka HAKSE, which was the wing of MNS that works as the labour union in Aviation Sector. Nitin Sardesai was appointed as the president of HAKSE. When around 1900 employees of Jet Airways were sacked from their jobs in October 2008, MNS started the protest against Jet Airways. Finally, all the employees were taken back on the jobs.
In 2009, the political party MNS first time contested in the elections of State Assembly. Nitin Sardesai contested from the Mahim constituency in Mumbai, and won the elections. He defeated two of the strongest candidates, Sadanand Saravankar of Indian National Congress and Aadesh Bandekar of Shiv Sena to win the seat.
Nitin Sardesai is a partner with Raj Thackeray in the real estate agency named ‘Matoshree Infrastructure’.
