We have all seen Subodh Bhave as a brilliant actor but he is equally the best in direction as well. Subodh has done beyond the fabulous work as a debut director. On the other hand, Shankar Mahadevan who is ruling the music industry from past 17 years, is outstanding in Katyar as an actor too. The movie also marks the debut (In Marathi Industry) of popular Hindi television actress Sakshi Tanwar. Even the singer Mahesh Kale (the student of Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki) has made his Silver screen debut as a singer with this film. The one thing is for sure that all the debutants have ruled this movie. Nevertheless, Sachin Pilgaonkar’s role as a Khan Saheb is incredible. He has stolen the show with his performance. While the glamorous Amruta Khanvilkar is seen in non-glamorous avatar as Zarina. Amruta, Mrunmayee Deshpande and Pushkar shrotri have also grace the movie with their respective roles. As it’s a musical saga, “Katyar Kaljat Ghusali” has one of the best Indian classical music. Some of the songs are of Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki’s, while few songs have been composed by Bollywood’s trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Whether it’s acting, direction, songs, music, set-designing, make-up, cinematographer the movie excels in everything. And it is a great treat to watch such a movie. So don’t forget to watch “Katyar Kaljat Ghusali” in your nearby theaters.
