Marathi Player in ISL’s Mumbai City FC



Looking at the football craze all over the world, now even India is boosting up football by launching Hero Indian Super League (ISL). Total 8 teams will be featuring in ISL which will be lasting for 10 weeks. Among all this teams, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and Chartered Accountant Bimal Parekh bought Mumbai Franchise i.e Mumbai City FC. Ranbir Kapoor defines team logo as “A resilient fortress standing proudly, surrounding the logo that signifies the unrelenting, determined spirit of the city and trains that are the lifeline of the city”.

Mumbai City FC is the only team with three marquee players Forward-Nicolas Anelka (France), Midfielder-Freddie Ljungberg(Sweden) and Defender-Manuel Friedrich(Germany). Syed Rahim Nabi is the captain of Mumbai City FC. Among all, there is one 24yrs Mumbai local boy Raju Gaikwad. Raju is a promising and tough defender who plays as Central Back and best known for his long throws. He has started his career from Indian U-19 team to regular Indian Senior squad player. As Mumbai is best known for WadaPavs, Local Trains and Cricket, Now it will be also known for football with Mumbai City FC.
