Early Life & Background
Madhura was born in Mumbai to a Marathi actor Pradeep Velankar.
Journey in the industry
Madhura is one of the top leading actress of Marathi Cinema. She debuted in the movie ‘Not Only Mrs. Raut’ in 2003. In the same year, she was seen in the Hindi movie ‘Jajantaram Mamantaram’ in the role of Rajkumari Amolhi.
Madhur became popular after playing lead roles in the movies like ‘Sarivar Sari’, ‘Matichya Chuli’ and ‘Gojiri’, for which she got critically acclaimed. She had acted in Marathi movies like ‘Khabardar’, ‘Aai No.1’, ‘Uladhaal’, ‘Ek Daav Dhobi Pachhad’, ‘Andhantari’ and more from 2005-2009.
In 2009, she acted in the movie ‘Canvas’ along with her real life husband Abhijeet Satam and Sameer Dharmadhikari. In the following year, she acted in the comedy movie ‘Haapus’ in a double role of Ankita and Amruta. This movie was co-produced by her husband Abhijeet and her father-in-law Shivaji Satam was the lead of the movie. In 2012, Madhura was seen in the movie ‘Jana Gana Mana’, which was based on schooling in village. In 2013, Madhura played the role in the Marathi multi-starrer movie ‘Asacha Eka Betavar’. The movie was loosely based on the old Hindi movie ‘Gumnaam’ and it had many popular faces like Sanjay Narvekar, Ankush Chaudhary, Sai Tamhankar, Sanjay Mone, Yatin Karyekar and few more.
Madhura had also acted in the popular Marathi stage plays like ‘Kadhitari Vedyagat’ in 2009 and ‘Lagnabambal’ in 2011.
Madhura got married to Abhijeet Satam, who is the son of the actor Shivaji Satam.
