Aditya Thackeray


Brief Intro

Aditya Thackeray is an Indian Politician who is the head of Shiv Sena’s ‘Yuva Sena’. He is the grandson of late Balasaheb Thackeray and the son of Uddhav Thackeray.


Early Life & Background

Aditya was born on 13th June 1990 in Mumbai. He is the son of the leader and chairperson of Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray and Rashmi Thackeray. He is the grandson of the founder of Shiv Sena, late Balasaheb Thackeray. He has brother named Tejas Thackeray. His uncle is MNS leader, Raja Thackeray.


Journey in Politics

Since his young age, Aditya got involved in politics. He joined his father’s party Shiv Sena and participated in many rallies. He also accompanied his father Uddhav Thackeray and grandfather Balasaheb Thackeray during the Dessera Melava- the meeting organised by Shiv Sena every year during Desera at Shivaji Park, Mumbai. On 17th October 2010, he formed the ‘Yuva Sena’, a youth wing of Shiv Sena.  He established the branches of Yuva Sena not only across Maharashtra but also in the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Bihar and Jammu & Kashmir. Currently he is the leader and the chairperson of the Yuva Sena and conducts various rallies, programmes with the help of today’s youth.

Aditya Thackeray also planned to launch 24 hour available cafes, restaurants and convenience stores including vada pav stalls to five star hotels for the mumbaikers. The motive behind this idea was to make Mumbai safer at night and to make food available for those who work late night. The other reason was to increase the revenue of the state and to provide employment opportunities. In the early November 2013, he took a stand for the good road contractions as people often complains about the bad road.


Other Work

Apart from being a good politician, Aditya is lean towards music and songs. He published his first book of poems named ‘My Thoughts in White and Black’ in 2007. In 2008, he released a private album ‘Ummeed’, in which he had wrote lyrics of all the songs those were included in the album. The album was launch by Balasaheb Thackeray and even the many celebrities from Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan were present during the event.
