Marathi Poet Shankar Vaidya Passed Away





Today early morning noted Marathi poet Shankar Vaidya took his last breath at Shushrusha private hospital in Dadar due to prolonged illness. He was born on 15th June 1928 in Attur village and on 15th June 2014, he turned 85.

Late. Shankar Vaidya was a Marathi poet popularly known for his literary stories. He not only recites poems but also wrote novels. His first narration ‘Aala Kshan Gela Kshan’ became immensely popular. However, his first poem recitation (Kavya Sangrah) was ‘Kalswar’. Later after a period of 27 years, he launched anthology titled ‘Darshan’. He had been honoured with many awards like Maharashtra Shasan Award, Konkan Marathi Sahitya Parishad, Master Dinanath Pratisthan Awards and many more.

Marathi industry will definitely miss this veteran poet!
